The National Federation of Builders (NFB) recently joined industry professionals at the Bill Munn Knowledge Series in Bristol to explore how the construction industry can better support neurodivergent talent.
Mia Silverfield, Strategy and Technical Manager and neurodiversity lead at the NFB spoke as a panellist alongside Lucy Smith from Inclusive Change and Stephanie Kyle from Floyd Slaski Architects. Together, the panel explored how the construction industry can move beyond awareness and create meaningful change for neurodivergent individuals through workplace culture, inclusive leadership, and how to design and build with inclusivity in mind
Reflecting on the NFB’s ongoing neurodiversity initiative, Mia highlighted the importance of turning awareness into practical action, helping employers better understand neurodiversity, and creating environments where individuals can thrive.
