As we look to 2026, we’re able to offer a 15% discounted membership for three-year deals, responding to members’ requests to help manage future cost planning. We also encourage members to recruit their peers and supply chain into the National Federation of Builders and receive 10% of their signup fee deducted from your renewal.

Unrivalled Standards
- The NFB Standard – We will continue our campaign on the membership standard of NFB, championing you as the professional builders, contractors and house builders with prospective clients, backed by our membership criteria, code of conduct and thorough complaints handling procedure.
- The Heritage Approved Contractor Mark – Launched in 2023 and available for members to apply for with no cost, our Heritage mark for heritage contractors continues to grow and grow, attracting attention from major heritage clients. See if you qualify here.
- The future Net Zero standard – we can help you prove your Net Zero credibility through our future Net Zero standard which comes with a digital emissions dashboard and is independently verified – allowing you to prove to clients that you’re delivering when it comes to carbon reduction.
Unrivalled Services
- Ask NFB – This year we launched our rebranded advice lines, standard templates and guidance documents into one simple service ‘Ask NFB’. Through our panel of experts, we can provide help on any issue you face in your business, all you’ll have to do is ‘Ask NFB’ – from HR to legal, regulatory to procurement, find your construction expert resource here.
- Expert Webinars – We will deliver regular expert webinars on key construction topics including the Building Safety Act, Employment Rights Bills, Artificial Intelligence in the sector, finance and lending, and net zero. The NFB will also respond to key events affecting the sector with online Q&As, giving every member comprehensive updates.
- Training – The NFB is committed to offering the best leadership and management training available, from our NFB Leadership Diploma to our Building Safety Act Awareness Course. The membership services team can produce an overview of courses to suit your training needs.
- Events – 2026 promises to be a calendar year of great events, with our Parliamentary reception, our Heritage conference, our Construction Awards of Excellence and more regional events.
- Procurement Portal – Members gain access to our procurement portal as well as new business enquiries through our find a contractor service and our Heritage Approved Contractor Mark referrals.
- Sectoral Groups – The NFB represents interests across the sector through a range of sectoral groups and associations including the Major Contractors Group, Heritage Group, House Builders Association, and the recently launched Employment Affairs Group and Regional Ambassador Programme.
- Magazines and Publications – The NFB’s magazines reach hundreds of thousands of construction organisations: BritBuild, Heritage and Traditional Build and Housebuild all offer members free opportunities to showcase your best work to the sector.
Unrivalled Advocacy
- In Parliament and Government – The NFB’s dedicated policy team are constantly working to improve the business environment for construction. We lobby for investment, skills reform, changes to CITB and the apprenticeship levy to planning reform, opening up procurement to SMEs and much more.
- Industry – The NFB represents you on the JCT (contracts), CITB, CIJC (Working Rule Agreement) and the Construction Leadership Council (UK Government), there are numerous opportunities for NFB members to steer this work and get involved directly.
- Neurodiversity – Following our 2023 landmark research report, we continue to fight for better neurodiverse inclusion and are working with members to offer bespoke training.
- Women in Construction – We champion women in construction as we work to celebrate the best work and advocacy of the women in our sector through awards and initiatives.
