- 17% of these workers have a formal diagnosis.
- 75% of workers said they weren’t asked about neurodiversity during hiring or onboarding, which could mean missed chances to offer support.
These were the findings from a survey commissioned by the National Federation of Builders in June 2023 involving over 1000 construction workers.
The report also highlighted challenges faced by neurodivergent workers, with 38% believing there is no or not much empathy for neurodiverse workers in the industry. These statistics emphasise the need for increased awareness and support.
